After the Scientific Studies he graduated in Piano (Lucca 1980) and Choral Conducting (Bologna 1984).
He studied the interpretation on keyboard historical instruments with D. Chorzempa at Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, and has attended to master classes leaded by K. Gilbert and K. Kite in London, T. Koopman in Verona, specializing in accompaniment from the trough bass.
To complete his interest in the interpretation of Baroque and Renaissance music, he has trained his voice working, among the others, with I. Partridge, E. Kirkby, E. Tubb.
He has been working as Assistant to the conductor and at the harpsichord with the great names of the Operatic theatre ( V. Puecher, F. Crivelli, B. Menegatti, V. Bertinetti, C. Fracci, H. Handt, B. Rigacci, N. Wiss, G. Ravazzi ).
He has worked in more than 30 operas of the international repertoire.
Among the others he has played, as Maestro al cembalo, in "Il giocatore"di Cherubini for Concerti Italcable of Theatre Sistina in Roma, broadcasted on the national radio Rai-Radio 3, on the 9th of November 1986 and as Maestro al Fortepiano in "I pazzi per progetto" di Donizetti ( Season of the Theatre in Lugo di Romagna 1988, live recording for Bongiovanni).
As continuo player he has worked with soloist and conductors like F. Brüggen, A. Bijlsma, E. Ameling, D. Chorzempa, P. Pollastri, P. Kogan, M. Inoue, D. Gatti, during his collaboration with ORT-Orchestra della Toscana.
He has worked with The Consort of Musicke as coach, preparing singers and playing the continuo, in three editions of Dartington International Summer School, to stage masques and english operas by Purcell, Eccles, e Blow.
With the Cosort has played the organ and acted in the documentary Banquet of Senses made at Palazzo Te in Mantua for the HDTV of Holland, edited also in a CD with music by Monteverdi: Madrigali erotici e spirituali published by Musica Oscura.
With I solisti del Madrigale leaded by Giovanni Acciai has played in many concerts with music by Monteverdi and has recorded, playing the harpsichord, the Sesto libro dei Madrigali for Nuova Era.
He works with Herbert Handt, Pro Cantione Antiqua, Paolo Pollastri, Sergio Azzolini, Angelo Bartoletti, Paul Goodwin, Rinaldo Alessandrini.
As solo harpsichord he has recorded for Dynamic Neue Clavier- Übung by Kuhnau.

He is Guest conductor at University of Cincinnati, where he has been coach for Italian vocality and has conducted "Alcina" by Haendel, staged by David Edwards, "Amore e Morte", music by Monteverdi and staged by Malcolm Fraser and an opera on Carlo Gesusaldo da Venosa's life, with music by Alan Otte and madrigals by Gesualdo, also staged by Malcolm Fraser.
He is invited to conduct early music groups like Pro Musica Firenze and Andrea Amati Baroque Orchestra.
He worked as coach in International master classes on vocality helded by G. Ravazzi, D. Ferro, C. Vilalta, H. Handt.
He is vicepresident of Accademia italiana di canto tha produces the study and realization of Italian Operas of the XVIII° Century.
He worked as ripetiteur at Conservatorio of Genova (1985 - 1989) and Parma (1990 - 1995) and in 1996 he won the place of conductor of the Choir at the Musical Institute "P.Mascagni" in Livorno.
